Literature Text
she dreams with poetry in her veins,
lyrics in her ears and unfinished
thoughts buzzing like missed calls
around her sun-kissed head;
mosquitoes over a stagnant pond
each is a stone’s throw away from completion,
pebble-dented, sending flies skittering,
fizzing like Mentos choking on Coke:
undirected effervescence
her moonlight fingers, bent into crescents,
cannot catch them all:
she yearns only to preserve the best
in rinsed jars with punctured lids,
labelled: Strawberry Jam, 2003.

Love love love the first stanza!
I have just one small critique: in the last two lines, you say "jam" twice, and it seems a bit repetitive. Otherwise, this is amazing! Good job!
